That's not a scoreboard, it's a billboard

Everything is for sale at LSU, inside and outside of the stadium. There is plenty of space for advertisement other than the scoreboard. You can buy a brick, a wall, a hall, a gate, a door, a knob, a squirrels nest....... just write the check and it's yours, we will put your name on anything that will hold a plague.

They are not going to light up, and those are permanent. It's actually a "mesh" screen-like covering for the speaker system.
didn't know that, but is there any word on ads on the two new screens yet?

Real question: Without making physical upgrades, can the portion of the board that includes the coke, verizon, capital one and mcdonald's ads display live video feed? OR is it static?

no we need more, we should add to the top of the adboard and put even more on it.

Yes.

Yes. Occasionally during pregame they will show a video where they go "full screen " and it's like night and day. You suddenly realize just how much of the screen is being used like a static billboard rather than a video screen. It's actually plenty large enough and looks great.
Then the video ends and the billboards go back up...and we're stuck with what amounts to about 25% of the useable video board for videos.

I know that Michigan also had (and may still have) a self-ban on any kind of ads in their stadium. They, and other schools, are also making an effort to make wi-fi available to all of the public on game days. Can people at LSU use their smart phones to receive the Internet during games at Tiger Stadium, or is all of the bandwidth jammed up by the thousands of users?

They are supposedly fixing the Internet issue for this upcoming season.

OK. We have been using this for ad space for so long, I thought there was a physical limitation to the board.

The only one I know of that's worse is the video board in Reliant Stadium.
Less ads on Reliant than on the Tiger Stadium scoreboard, FWIW.
So actually ours is worse.
