there's something to be said about passing a test 4 years out of college. i just think it cheapens it to be able to take it after the fe

The whole point behind 4 years of experience is for you to have real world experience under the guidance of a PE. If you can take the PE right after the FE what checks are in place that you train under a PE? While book smarts are great, real world knowledge of the profession is needed before you go off on your own. I think this is a horrible idea. I think this is worse than the notion floated around about having to have a Masters to take the PE which I think is horrible as well.
