re: The Great Gatsby, worth the watch if you've read the book?

I thought it followed closely for the most part. (Granted it's been about 6 years since I read it) Leo is Leo and has a really good performance. Edgerton was phenomenal. Carey Mulligan was meh as Daisy. Sometimes she was good, sometimes she was bad. Tobey McGuire was boring but I couldn't quite figure out if that was purposeful or not considering Nick isn't the most intriguing character anyway. Some ppl complained about the extravagance, over-the-topness that Luhrmann used but to me that falls in line with the book.

SO has never seen the the movie or read the book, I've only read the book and like most it was 5+ years ago but I'm sure watching the movie will trigger memories from the book
