All BS aside, call owner and ask if the dog has shots right away, like when it happen. If the dog does, your son learn a lesson. If not, you need to call animal control. The owner will have to pay for the dog to go to a Vets office for 10 days to be checked.

This is the rabies law in most states - requires mandatory 10 day quarantine for any dog that bites a human. In some states this quarantine can take place at home under supervision of animal control IF the dog is current on rabies vaccine.

I personally would ensure the bite wound was thoroughly cleaned or have the kid see a doctor as I've seen seemingly harmless bites turn into serious infections.

It didnt appear to break the skin. he will be bruised up though.

Again, lesson learned for him and hopefully from owner.

I went up to a mobile home I was renting to a guy, after dark, to get my rent. Decided to pet his dog by the front door, before I knew what was happening, the dogs mouth was sank into my arm, both sides. After beating it with a stick, I cleaned the wound with peroxide and gauze. I tried to be tough but after 4 days I was in ICU with IV's and shite hooked up, arm had shite oozing out, pretty bad. Be careful.

This and make sure the wounds are not stiched. They should be left open to drain naturally. Augmentin is a great antibiotic for this.

I was bitten by a dog about 23 years ago, went to the ER and the jackass sewed me up. Got a cellulitis which could have seriously effed up my arm.
