Well I'm satisfied Hobby Lobby is tainted with the dirty sin of contraception, I'm getting my dick picks framed somewhere else.
I know a mini-framer you could go to.

It's not a pension fund, it's a 401k plan. The company selects the 401k plan provider.

Kinda like picking an insurance provider?

What is a provider?
What sort of entity is it?
What is its function?

I just don't see the issue:
1) They likely did not have a clue what the funds invested in.
2) IF I was against alcohol consumption. I would NOT provide it for my employees. I'd not buy alcohol for them at gatherings, etc. BUT, I'd damn sure invest in beer companies because I don't mind making money off of the dummies that DO drink.
Just to be clear..I DO drink alcohol. It was just an illustration

That is a rather dubious and inconsistent moral code and one we all know does not fit the Christian mold. Would a Christian consider it morally consistent to not provide funding for employee abortions but invest in abortion clinics?

You would think if this was important to them, they would think about it ahead of time.
The reality is it isn't important to them they just don't feel they should provide healthcare to their employees.

They could have selected the Christian brothers plan. They, as the employer, had that choice.

So now you are a financial advisor?
Is a 401K required of an employer?
Wouldn't the prudent decision be to find a provider that would maximize the investment, especially of employee money?

I thought everyone knew you could shop for a mutal fund that would adhere to your moral guidelines?
Also if you make money off something you think is immoral then you're a hypocrite. You're helping continue a cycle of immorality. Actions are louder than words in my opinion.

You're flailing pal. They've provided a plan in conflict with their very important religious beliefs when they could've chosen one that was in line with them. That's all there is to it. Unfortunately it undercuts the basis of their challenge to the birth control mandate under the ACA. That's just a fact.

Meh. Not an issue.
There are plenty of reasons for why they didn't choose one of the "moral" mutual funds.
In the end, I don't really care why. I support them merely for the fact that they are attempting to get out from under the ACA. I do not care if they state it is against their religion, emotional states, the opinions of their favorite super heroes, etc.
If their reason is truly bullshite, I hope everyone starts coming up with bullshite reasons to get out of it as well.
The more buck the law, the faster it hopefully collapses in on itself.

I would like the ACA to go away, too. I'd like to see employer provide health insurance go away. I just enjoy making fun of the hypocrisy and others trying to justify it. Your post is honest.

No Offense intended CWill, but Every thread I come to you seem to be getting backed into a corner by common sense and logic after issuing absolutes and generalities.
This great "gotcha" moment is repeated on a daily basis by virtually every single person who has specific beliefs and who also invests.
Hobby Lobby deserves praise for spending the money to resist The State and making themselves a target. It saddens me to see so many intelligent people join in the Cultural Bullying and marginalization. Some day soon, our country will pay a tremendous price for this shift from Citizen to Subject.

Let's change flail to fail. You should refrain from calling anyone an idiot going forward.

IIRC hobby lobby actually does provide contraception, just not all types mandated under Obozocare
