Ask someone who works in Lafayette and lives in Milton or Youngsville how that commute works out for them. No difference really there as opposed to a Sugar Land commute to and from Houston for work.

Let's clarify a little. Houston burbs and Dallas burbs are cheap with good amenities. Don't move to Austin where I live because there are no more cheap houses. When I moved here it was just like Houston in that you got a ton for your money. It's not like that anymore. 300,000 to 450,000 gets you in a decent new construction in the suburbs now (and you have to deal with Austin traffic). When a 200,000 to 300,000 hits the market it sells within two to three days and you don't want to live in a below 200,000 house or neighborhood.

Feel like the Austin area is sitting on a big bubble, wish people would quit moving here.
