Let's play a game called "Count how many times Democrat is in this article"

ABC News story about California Democrat Leland Yee who was indicted on public corruption charges.

If you don't want to skim the article, democrat is no where to be found in the long article.
If this were a Republican I bet Republican would appear multiple times in the title and then dozens of times in the article with references to how all Republicans are associated with him and therefore are guilty by association.

"Yee is the third democratic senator to face criminal allegations. "

The victim mentality never gets old, I guess.
The article mentions that he is a Democrat and includes "democrat" as a tag. It is on the website of a local TV station in San Francisco. It's a pretty safe assumption that their state senator is a Democrat. You may have a point if it were an article meant for national consumption. Party affiliation is often prominently displayed, depending on the slant.
The reason they find it interesting is that he is fought allegations by fellow Democrats that he was part of the Chinese mafia there in San Fran. This validates their suspicions.
Good job on being a perpetual victim, though.

Where does it say that? I control+F and searched for democrat and nothing came up except in the comments section

It appeared one time in the article. "democrat" was a tag to the article also.
ETA: third to last sentence.

It does mention that he's a Democrat once in the article.
Frick Senator Yee. When I lived there he was known as a pretty rabid anti-gun politician... And one of the charges he was arrested on was gun trafficking.

Why not just read the whole article instead of relying on the program to search ?

In reading your post I can't help but think of the numerous and assorted victim-based group voting blocks that the dem's target every election cycle, inventing bogus issues to gin up the ill-informed base who are actually worse off now than 5 years ago. But maybe that falls under the title of perpetual stooges instead of victims.

The gun trafficking Demoncrat was anti Second Amendment. Shocking.

In a very long article, Democrat was mentioned one time in the third to last sentence.
If you believe that is a coincidence, you're willfully ignorant.

No coincidence there. An unbiased journalist would probably want to put contextual information in there and I think political party qualifies. (although more than once per article is excessive)
I don't think it should be a requirement to mention party affiliation but I do think it was probably left out on purpose.

You do understand that offering a bet on a hypothetical is completely meaningless, right?

"FBI agents are in the Capitol office of state Sen. Leland Yee this morning, and Bay Area news stations are reporting that the San Francisco Democrat has been arrested on suspicion of corruption."
Opening sentence. Good job by the State capital's newspaper.
"Two other Democratic state senators, Rod Wright and Ron Calderon, are already on leaves of absence due to criminal charges against them"
