Wallace lake south shreveport and other NWLA reports

I've been out there a few times now with no luck. I've thrown sinkos, spinners, cranks and haven't gotten one bite. Pretty frustrating. Anyone been out there and have any luck?

Not recently, but I used to fish it all the time. Topwater and crank baits usually worked for me. It's frustrating because of all the growth that snags everything. You have to get way back off the beaten path of that lake.

I've been launching at the end of Wallace lake rd. There is barely any water at the launch on Norris ferry.

go by the dam if the water is high.

Sounds about right. Norris ferry has been difficult to use in the past. I haven't been out there in a few years. I keep saying I'm gonna take my pirouge and drop the side of 49 and fish back toward the lake.

Right under that bridge? I tried to paddle to there from the launch but didn't wanna get lost

I never fished the dam. Just never made it over there. The tressel is hot for perch.

It's not bad, or it used to not be. We ran traps all over that lake back in the day. I never caught any fish around the bridge though.

I think I'm gonna take my dad's alumni weld with the 25 out there and scope more of the lake out before I take the yak back out there.

That'd be a good idea. We took a 15' Jon with a 25 all over that lake

Anyone duck hunt it?
There's a retired Bossier City Police Chief that has a duck blind out there that, believe it or not, has been the death of many a mallard ducks over the past 25+ years.
Very rare to find a public lake where a man can actually go out and consistently whack big ducks. He does.

Just drove out there to take a look. The fish cops were roughing up the bucket sitters down at the dam. I never was sure on the regs regarding walking over the levee, so didn't go over with green jeans sitting there.
Drove around to Norris Ferry, and while the launch looks like shite, the lake west of there looked pretty good/open. If you stay right at the fork, you can get a good look over there. Also looks like you can get some good meth over there. It was open water, salvinia didn't look bad. I'm hearing good reports from both Wallace and the River.
I wouldn't leave a single dime in plain sight at the launch. Looks a little shady.

There are too many other productive bodies of water in/around Shreve/Bossier for me to waste my time on Wallace.
Pool 5 by the L&D, Pool 4 by L&D 5, Caroline, Cross, Caddo, Kepler, Grand Bayou, Bisteneau, Cypress, Black Bayou Hosston, etc... all within 1.5 hrs, most much closer than that.

Caroline
Really? Caroline looks like as big a mess as Wallace. Thought it was shallow and stumpy. Learn us on Caroline.

It's been tough this year. I'll reserve condemnation till next year is the same. Last year it was awesome. If all the bassholes quit trying to fish it in 21' skeeters and leave it to the jon boats and kayaks, it'll be fine. No reason to launch a fiberglass boat in that stump laden pond with a no-motor restriction.

Caroline as a body of water is not bad for small boats. It gets a few large pad fields that take up some space in the warmer months, but its a trade off for better fishing from what I have seen.
This year I am 0-1-0-1 out there since Feb. 1.
ETA: Im trying not to give up on it, but each trip I get a stronger feeling that it is going to end up like bickham dickson/wallace and be a dead sea.

Google maps suggests it doesn't get river water anymore, even when it's high...so that's a bummer.
Also, came across a small lake/pond just south of Diamondjack's! Could hold some fish/dead bodies?
