I'm just pointing out that your rigid "law" is very flawed. History has shown us the need for consumer protection laws.

Another example is requiring that the food and water that we eat and drink isn't poisoned. "Caveat Emptor" doesn't work too well when the buyer is dead and has no recourse. Such regulations literally protect the lives of the consumer.

Of course, you're going to try to argue that the market would take care of it, but the problem with that is that in the meantime, people get sick and/or die. For some of us (those of us who prefer to live in a civilized society), that's not acceptable.
