Let's see......people lose money on investments all of the time. Would you rather lose more money or less money? That's right, invest in something that won't cost you more money while you own it, and will give you the most ROI when you sell it. Investments don't gain value 100% of the time.
You don't plan on trading in your lawnmower or vacuum cleaner do you?

When you buy a stock you don't buy it knowing that it's going to decrease in value.
But xxLSUxx has it right. We're talking about two different meanings of a word.
I just caution people from seeing their car as a traditional investment because it's not.

perfectly said. every vehicle i buy i make a profit or loose less than 10 percent when i sell it.
every time i buy a vehicle i get it for the lowest i possibly can so i can still sell it for a decent price when i get rid of it.
but if you buy brand new your a retard thats for sure. since you are guaranteed to loose money on the car 100%.
also to address the real question i only buy used vehicles and only from craigslist or a facebook groups. and id rather buy a vehicle with a problem so i can get it really cheap and really come out ahead.
last car i bought i paid 3k for a 2007 honda accord 4dr. it was wrecked in the pass side and cost about 1k to make it brand new again.
so lets see i spend 4k and in the shape its in now it kbb's for 10k yea thats an investment for sure.
