What I've done in the past is if a business sends out an employee to repair something for me I always ask if they do side work on their own. Basically, all have told me they do. I then get a number to reach them at. I've always had at least next day repair if not the day I call them. Saves quite a bit of money.
This is actually a great idea. Im gonna start doing this!

I get calls like "It's 8am on Sunday I was seeing if someone could come fix my dishwasher today. I need it done asap"
"My dryer went out and I can't wait till monday to wash these clothes"
Nothing really important. I may come out for a fridge or freezer if it's something we worked on before or its a repeat customer. But as it is most of the time I'm backed up.
People expect same day service and that is hard to do.
I'm amazed people still fix that stuff. If my dryer goes out and it's not under warranty I'm going to be at Lowes within the hour.

Or you could just fix it yourself and save some money. I always try to fix it myself before I call for service.
I'm not exactly a do it yourselfer
