Mystery Explosion/Plume Erupted from White Sands Missile Range (Trinity Site)

On Monday, March 17th, weather trackers spotted and tracked on radar a mysterious plume suddenly erupt out of the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The plume, described by weather experts as a strong storm cloud, drifted into north Texas and hovered over Amarillo before crossing the Oklahoma border where it eventually dissipated.

Conspiracy theorists have speculated that the plume-like cloud, which seems to appear out of nowhere, could have been kicked up by the explosion from an unreported weapons test.
Deepening the mystery, U.S. National Weather Service offices in Albuquerque and El Paso have confirmed the reading, but say they have no idea where it could have come from.

The plume first appeared at sunset on Monday evening over the part of the vast White Sands Missile Range in east Socorro county, close to the 'Trinity Site' where the first atomic bomb was detonated in 1945.

the bizarre 'weather' event's appearance over a military site has led to speculation that some kind of massive weapon has been exploded at white sands, propelling a huge amount of particulate debris into the atmosphere.
With the Carrizozo volcanic field just east of the site, another possible explanation could that a volcanic eruption - which has gone unreported for whatever reason - could be the source of the plume.

Looks like the smug from Mel Gibson's acceptance speech.

I'm stationed at Holloman AFb which is right next to it. There was no explosion. No volcono. No aliens. Just a dust storm.

Have you ever been to West Texas/Eastern New Mexico this time of year? Dust storm.

Yes but the only problem with this sentence is the "conspiracy theorists" part.......its White Sands Missile Range.......they test weapons there!

Forgive my ignorance, but why is an explosion/plume coming from a missile testing site a mystery?

Seismometers all over the US would have picked up an unreported explosion and it would've been reported by several geological communities if true. That is, after all, how we determine when test are performed by other countries.
Take your conspiracy theory elsewhere.

I am actually on White Sands right now. A launch was conducted on Monday by the Navy, and the range roads were closed off from any access, until around 9 AM. It was no nuke or anything crazy like that, just a normal test, that happens here all the time. Army, Air Force, Navy, NASA, Raytheon, Northrop Gruman, General Dynamics, & so on are all here. Missiles and rockets are engineered here every day, and eventually tested. This was nothing new...
The test was suppose to be conducted last week on Thursday, but because of a wind storm blowing in, the test was pushed back until Monday.
There has also been a dust storm over the area for almost the entire week.
Oh and aside from being here currently, I work in Air Defense
