I dove off of Cayman last year and the dive master is a friend. He gave us all those spears and told us to kill any lionfish we saw.

I got two, and we ate them. They are quite good, once you get the poisonous barbs out of play.

Finally watched this video. What amazes me the most is that he stays calm (or his breathing anyway) the entire time.

The thing I find most disturbing is that we are brainwashed to believe that when sharks attack humans it's a mistake. Once the mistake is realized, the shark will move on. And most times they only make the mistake because they're hungry and think we're easy prey. Well this fricker is resiliently attacking a human, and it doesn't seem like for food. It's like they were engaged to do battle for no other reason than to inflict pain or punishment.
