Jordan Hill certainly meets my criteria for a big (reasonable foul rate, good rebound rate), and Demps was interested in acquiring him for free, but wouldn't give up an asset for him. I think the problem was we had no available 2nd rounders and they obviously value Pierre Jackson more than a 2nd rounder or he'd have been traded. Basically Jordan Hill was available for $1 and a $5 was the smallest bill we had and the Lakers weren't giving change back.
The Jordan Hamilton situation is more interesting. Do we really like Roberts? Do we not like Hamilton? Did Denver not like Roberts? Not liking Hamilton is a real possibility, Demps has often gone in a very different direction from board consensus.

very good points.
I'm not trying to slam the FO, just one of those what ifs.

This is just depressing. So we'll be stuck with the same group as this year. We're going to add a bottom tier Center, just like one of the 4 we already had, and that'll make all the difference? Even fully healthy(which we will never be), that team is still just a borderline 8th seed.
Demps needs to do something big this summer. The team is already crowded with 2nd bananas. He needs to build around his star (Davis) and swing for the fences. Something to give this team some excitement. A package built around Anderson, either Evans or Gordon and Jackson might bring a star level play. That's what we need to add to Davis and Holiday. Not another back-up..
