“The older guys obviously know cadence, and there’s some comfort there,” LSU coach Les Miles said. “We want to allow a quality competitive environment for Brandon Harris and the other quarterbacks, so we have to bring Brandon to speed, just a comfort of the offense, and then let’s have at it. Let’s see who’s best.”

“I don’t think that game was one of my best games. If it was, I don’t think I would be starting,” Jennings said, later adding, “I watched [film of the Iowa game] so many times, I don’t think you’d believe it.”

I really hope he or another QB pulls away from the pack so much that there is no debate on who the starter is.

Kinda encouraging that Jennings has at least acknowledged he has to step up his game.

He has only started one college game. His inference to me seems to be 'I' am better than that game showed. I hope it is more critique on his part and not boast.

Unfortunately, that just doesn't seem likely. So, let's just hope whoever ends up on the field performs well regardless.
I just have this feeling that they each are pretty strong in their own right and it will come down to "fit" in the offense.
Yep. I know. That could make for some long days on the rant.

Well at least he's not taking the JJ approach.

aint happening.
this fanbase will have a 3 way QB controversey brewing all season, at least in thier minds.
Jennings is gonna be our guy until he's injured IMO.

he wasn't nearly as bad in that game as the rant thinks but it's nice to see him take ownership of it unlike some other QBs we've had here in the past.

This. There's a reason the coaches thought so highly of him from he very beginning last season. Let's just allow this thing to play out.
Jk lol lets freak out about everything.

I just hope we finally have a young guy who can occasionally be counted on to actually win a game. People will not have much patience for another JJ/JL type offense.

At least Jennings acknowledges that his performance can be improved upon greatly. I seem to recall some previous QBs that would play terribly and then almost act like it was a great performance.
I think Jennings is definitely on the right track and at the very least shows a desire to work hard and get better. He has a very good Coach teaching him, which is also something previous QBs didn't have.

At least Jennings acknowledges that he didn't have a good game. JJ would have blamed it on everyone but himself.

At least this is an original thought.
When in doubt, shite all over JJ.

THIS.
Especially since in my view, the coaches almost set him up to fail. Now, that's not actually a knock on the coaches. They were concerned about their 1st time starter in the game and played close to the vest.
But, sometimes, that can end up making it worse. He's smart enough to know he was being coddled in that game and that can have an effect on one's confidence.
Also. When you play the whole "run, run and only pass if you must" routine, then often, that puts the QB in the position of having to be perfect when you ask him to pass. You basically are passing in all MUST complete situations. That has a pressure in itself.
Again. I get why the coaches did it but, I also think it had an effect on his performance.
