Am I the only one that never got into Game of Thrones?

I've attempted to start watching the series multiple times, but I just don't get into it. Is it a show that grows on you as time progresses and you watch more episodes or is it "either you like it or you don't" kind of thing?

And should I even try to watch the show or does the quality taper off (like walking dead).

If you don't like walking dead or game of thrones you should just stick to reality tv.

You are probably not the only person. There are lots of people with shitty taste in the world.

So what you are saying is you don't like zombies, dragons, boobies, sword-fighting, and the occasional one-liner from Tyrion or Bronn?

Amirite?

I can watch it for purely entertainment purposes, but I do not like the time period so it was kind of hard to get in to.

I would say that GoT would require a certain intelligence level or enjoyment of fantasy genre, but in reality, GoT crosses those boundaries and is watched en mass by joe blows.

That said, everyone's tastes are different. For example, I don't watch NASCAR because I don't enjoy watching people drive in circles. But plenty of people watch it religiously.

Agree to an extent.

I think that if people would stop try to analyze tv shows so much, trying to find meaning in every little detail, and just enjoy the show for purely entertainment purposes then I think this world would be a better place

This.

And I love GoT. Read the books twice and finished my rewatch of the entire series last week.

I disagree.

I think that exact scenario has led to two sides:

1) Shitty TV, reality TV, BBT and 90% of movies
2) And now a backlash movement for people that enjoy quality TV and movies and fanboy to have some decent storytelling available.

Couldn't have said it better myself. BBT is awful and no one would laugh at it if it weren't for the laughing track (which is so "80s and 90s sitcom" outdated it's ridiculous that it's still used in 2014).

I'd say the #2 group is getting bigger and bigger though.
