Yeah, but there's nothing like packing a lunch, and spending a day on the North Shore

Maui. Lived there this time last year in Lahaina and I miss it. Everything you need is on that island.

Not Oahu. I've lived here for 3 years and just took a trip to Maui. Blew Oahu outa the water.

I like Oahu. Plenty of city when you're bored with the beach, mountains, and empty beaches if you know where to find them.

We used to take a tent and the grill, and camp on the beach there every weekend. Well, except for fall.

Big Island, IMO.

YOu can't really go wrong, with : Hawaii, O‘ahu, Maui, Kauai.

I'd stay away from Molokai. Lepers were the gingers of their time.

maui, you can ride bikes around it, it has a volcano, waterfalls, luau, great snokeling, cool museums in an old whaling town, spam sandwiches from a street vendor...the whole package

The Big Island is the best kept secret. Well maybe not a secret, but very underrated.

Fly into Kona, there are some great resorts like the Hilton Waikoloa Village, one of the nicest I've stayed. Rent a car and drive up through some rain forest & stop for some great views of waterfalls on your way to Hilo. Then go up Kilauea which is still very active & you'll see stuff you won't see anywhere else on the planet.

Definitely island hop while you're there, but don't miss The Big Island.

I stayed in Kauai for ten days last Summer. Had the time of my life. Definitely want to retire there.

I would island hop. The flights are dirt cheap. Well, at least they were in 2007.

Do they really have lepers? I snorkled off the coast of Molokai last time I was there, and that island looked awesome. Whales and spinner dolphins every where. Seemed like a place to put up a hammock, and open a pale ale.

ETA:

NVM. We chilled off the coast of Lanai.
