Okay, sure, they let one draft dictate an entire roster overhaul

It's just a major piece of the puzzle. They got Noel from last year's draft. They will get a top 3 player this year and a good servicable player with the Pels pick in the 1st round as well. They will also have a lot of cap space to good after I believe two max contracts. Their future looks a whole lot brighter than the Pels that's for sure.

Pels have three ball dominate guards, one of whom can't shoot worth shite and the other doesn't give a damn about being around here. They have a massive holes at the 3 and 5 positions and they also are cap strained with no draft picks for this year's draft.

The Pelicans are not as bad as you make them out to be.

Philly doesn't even have a superstar like the Pelicans. MCW is a role player at best an no one even knows what they have with Noel. Noel right now is a skinny defensive project.

The Pelicans are also in a place where they can't just lure huge FAs to New Orleans without an already contending team.

Gordon is a legit starter who is about $5 million over paid. Holiday is a top PG in the league. Anderson is a top stretch forward in the league and will compete for sixth man of the year when healthy. Evans is showing out right now and I think it isn't fair to condemn him yet.

Rivers, Withey, Ajinca, and Morrow are also solid bench player and young prospects.

The Pelicans should have the MLE to hopefully address another defensive big man.

Questionable

True, but cap space does not equal good players.

Noel won't be any decent for at least 1 year(probably longer) you'd wait two years for an average nba center(with one knee mind you)?

Why would they chose philly over BOS/LAL/CHI(after boozer goes)?

And no it's not much brighter at all.

Jrue did not "dominate" the ball. He averaged 8.0 assists/got guys open and knocked down shots while playing D.

If you've actually watched tyreke lately, his shooting has improved a good deal recently(50.6 FG/36.0 3PTFG) and is regularly getting guys involved.

EG has his faults but he's probably gone in the offseason and i'm not worried about him. He's been pretty nice fwiw at hitting shots and hasn't been mopey(a shock i know).
