So, making Columbus and Detroit move back to the West is fair? I think the better option is to A...let Florida move to a western location like Utah, Seattle, Portland,Regina and even it up or B...expand by two teams in the West, which is more likely going to happen. Hockey is relatively in great shape. Its becoming more popular at the youth level and college hockey is becoming more popular as well. I dont think 2 additional teams will hurt the NHL as much as some think. Attendance at NHL games is doing really well...better then the NBA actually. But moving Columbus and Detroit back to the West isnt happening, they just moved to the East.

I said OR not and.
And yes it is fair. They are further west than any other team in the east and there needs to be an east\west balance. One of those 2 need to move back.

And I agree expanding is not as dumb as some think (so long as they pick the right markets) however it is not a preferred option.

Also I do not think anyone needs to be contracted. Contacting should be a last resort to stop a league hemorrhaging money.
