Selling beer at football games "would enhance the fan experience," LSU Athletics Director Joe Alleva said. "I don't think that's something that would necessarily be a negative for drunkenness and it might curtail the drunkenness if you sold beer. Right now, they drink excessively in the parking lot before they come in because they can't get alcohol inside. Perhaps if they had access in the stadium, they wouldn't drink as much when they come in. I think it's something we have to talk about. This may come down the road in the future, and I wouldn't be opposed to it."

Selling beer in the stadium will have zero bearing on how much people consume prior to a game, that said, I love the idea!

Alleva has $ signs with this only.
No telling how much a small cup of beer will cost

Tiger penis shaped plastic bottles in visitor section. Would make for a fun marketing campaign

I'm not a big Alleva fan but he's dead on there.

That's kinda his point...
how many sloppy drunks wouldn't be quite so bad off if you could just drink beer instead of having to sneak in liquor or chug outside the gates? Of course the rant is full of manly men who always handle their booze but I'd be willing to bet a lot of issues could be avoided if liquor wasn't the only option.

I agree with this. If I knew I could have 4-5 beers in the stadium then I wouldn't worry about bringin in whiskey which would mean I was less drunk.

Not a great idea unless bathroom upgrades part of it.

I guess every other AD wants to sell beer for the goodwill of his fans, but alleva is just all about the money, amirite?
