O&G engineers can easily make over 100k after a few years. You will most likely move out of engineering and in to an operations role (high stress) to make that money, but if you have the degree, the oppurtunity is there. I make very, very close to 100k base salary after 3.5 years. With bonuses and stock options, I'll clear 120 this year. I'm not an EE, but we have EE's that start out in the same job I did. I moved out of engineering after 2 years and have nearly doubled my base salary from when I first started.
