Look at big arbor reels, sink line and use 65lb braided backing. Put as much backing as you can. There are some 15 wt 10' rods that have extended butts that help fit a fighting belt. Big plus! Once one hooks up, one has to use the boat to run them down.

I have caught tuna up to 65lbs,Dorado, AJ's, red snapper, kingfish and Lings. Really never tried for a billfish, but did look into it a bunch. To do that, one just teases them up and then one drops a fly back for the swap.

Met that guy probably 12 years ago when there was an Orvis Shop on Corporate Blvd in Baton Rouge. I think that place was called Gulf Coast Outfitters or something like that.
