So it is now the rights contention that Russia is more of an immediate threat to the United States than Al-Queda is? That is what the video clip is about....
I will tell you one reason the right may be close to the truth about this.....their love of neo-conservatism that has proven disastrous since W decided to play soldier in the desert to protect Daddy's legacy has no doubt done more to embolden Russia than anything that Obama has done....being at war for 12 + years and having a citizenry that no longer has the taste for footing the bill for war and seeing their sons and daughters sent off to fight in wars has had no effect on Russia and others who might otherwise be hestitant to kick the US in the teeth.
Here is the thing...none of the neo-cons ever politicked for financing the war on terror and continuing the spending associated with the cold war...not a single one. Russia is no more a threat today than it ever was yet we decided as a nation to provide the world with a police force (a "Global Force For Good" according to the US Navy) and now we are once again proving that we don't really mean it except when it comes to places like Grenada and Afghanistan.

You ever notice how most of the time when these lefty idiots talk about the military on here ... it's usually to bash ... say that military folks can't hack it in civilian life ... end up being corrupt bully cops, etc.
But ... when these same lefties then jump into this "America is war weary" BS (as if the wars have really affected them)... all of the sudden, those same military folks that they despise ... are their "sons and daughters."
FRICK YOU.

quote:Nope. A supposed "contention that Russia is more of an immediate threat to the United States than Al-Queda" appears to be yet another germandawg confabulation.
“Russia, I indicated, is a geopolitical foe…and I said in the same paragraph I said and Iran is the greatest national security threat we face. Russia does continue to battle us in the U.N. time and time again. I have clear eyes on this. I’m not going to wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to Russia or Mr. Putin…”

what!?!?! the president and his minions think that he got some awesome zinger in there to show how stupid Romney is. when in reality, Obama's zinger implied his own factual inaccuracy.
if Obama is going to use smart-assed attacks, then they're going to be subjected to higher scrutiny.
this is for you too Bayou Sam

If you can show me one single post where I have bashed anyone in the military I will leave forever.

You have no fricking idea how our wars in the middle east have affected me you a-hole. I have been involved for the last 10 years and know full well the crisis the military faces with members who are worn the frick out.

The largely liberal controlled news media has a very short memory when it comes to Obama's gaffs/failures. As such you will only find this sort of reality check on conservative outlets like the one you linked.

There hasn't been a draft in the United States in 41 years.
