Tell me about the food trucks. What are the better ones?

Is there a website for them?

They're all on Facebook. Follow them and they post where their location is for the day.

Viva la waffle is the craze, but it's not the best. It's good, but it's just a sandwich in a waffle. Nothing crazy about it IMO. Great garlic butter fries though.

Pelons Mexican hot dogs is the best. They know how to cook a weenie.

Lil chubs grill has good sliders and fried pickles.

Hibachi hero is tight. It's all about the sauce.

LA StrEAT is cool. I think I had a boudin stuffed grilled cheese from them before that was great.

-Judice Inn for Burgers on Johnston St
-Deano's Pizza on Bertrand
-Local Boudin places in Scott right of I-10 - (Best Stop, Billys, Dons)
-Social is outstanding
-Charley G's for upscale dinner
-Pho Saigon is youre into that
-Sakura on Johnston for sushi or Tsunami Downtown for atmosphere
-Taproom for chilled out bar
-Youre only 30 min drive from Avery Island and the Mcllhenney Tobasco plant. Wait until Spring and its absolutely beautiful
Avery Island
-Cafe Vermillionville for special occasion dinner
-Crawfish Time on Ridge for boiled seafood
-Like everyone else has already mentioned, Downtown Alive and Rhythms on River for live music
-Jolie's Louisiana Bistro is also fantastic

-For Food trucks - Pelon's Mexican Hotdog is pretty damn delucious

What is there to do on weekends that BR does not offer.

Haven't seen these mentioned-

Be in town for Festival, last weekend in April.

Get breakfast at Edie's, corner of Bendel & Pinhook. I recommend the brisket kolaches & blueberry biscuits.

Get a plate lunch from Breaux's Mart, corner of Moss & Alexander. Chicken, sausage & okra stew on Sunday is good.

Drive to Henderson and eat at Pat's on the levee.

Chef Gregory food truck dishes out probably the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had.

ETA: to the OP, good advice from reverendotis, above.

Add Hot Food Express to your Lafayette bucket list.
That place will knock your socks off!

The original is on Cameron and they just opened one up downtown on Jefferson.

Green room is acceptable, you're right. When I think downtown I think city bar, marleys and nite town, which are not acceptable. Green room, JSP and legends would are okay in my book.
