We’ve been sharing news with Daily Dead readers on the upcoming Goosebumps feature film and, with the main cast now set, Sony Pictures has announced an official release date.
Fans of the R.L. Stine horror series have a little bit of a wait, as Goosebumps won’t hit theaters until March 23, 2016. Even though that release date is a couple of years away, March is already starting to fill up. Disney will be releasing an animated film earlier in the month and Warcraft will be released on March 11th, 2016.
While this movie won’t be an adaptation of a single Goosebumps story, we expect that a number of Goosebumps favorites will be among the monsters we see. Directed by Rob Letterman (Gulliver’s Travels, Shark Tale), the movie stars Jack Black, Odeya Rush, and Dylan Minnette.
Goosebumps.
The books were the shite when I was a kid. Night of the Living Dummy was a masterpiece of children's literature.

I read them all as a kid. Hope the movie can do them some justice.

Goosebumps. Is. The Tits. Loved the books and that mini-series growing up. I hope this movie isn't terrible.

CSB warning:
My mother went to high school with R.L. Stein and he's from my hometown.

I remember those SFP.
And isn't this movie about 20 years too late.
I think I read Goosebumps up to about the 30s and then stopped. Like HOllywood, started having too many sequels.

The opening theme was boss. I hope they use it in the movie.

Hopefully they pick one of the best known books in the series, and base it on that. If they try to do an amalgamation, or an original that "feels" like Goosebumps, I don't think it will work.

Read the shite out of them as a kid.
Will watch.
