Loaded at DBU, but this could help build the North Carolina pipeline.

Mark Fields, a 247-4 star 15 minutes from Charlotte lists LSU as one of his "warmer" interests. I see that he doesn't have an offer, but he does appear to be on the radar. Charlotte has produced some very strong talent in recent years and getting a kid to LSU would be huge. Do you think he gets an offer?
I know I know, we are loaded in the secondary.

Would love to have a NC pipeline. Looks like Chavis and Raymond are already recruiting him. He will get an offer.

Believe his dad played for the Saints.

i, too, would love to have a north carolina pipeline. but i think we should route it down to the florida pipeline so the two can join there en route to baton rouge, with the alabama and mississippi pipelines connecting in along the way. there's no need, though, to change the midwestern pipeline that runs down through oklahoma, then through texas (the texas and samoan pipelines are one in the same, for now) before arriving in BR.

He was. Maybe the greatest pure athlete the Saints ever had.
I remember him at LB chasing a WR(Isaac Bruce I think) down who had a 10 yard head start. The guy was a freaking beast.

He was a linebacker that the Saints even tried as a gunner on punts.

A NC pipeline would be great but near impossible to get. Too many school between us and there and already quite a few programs with set in hooks. USCe, Clemson and UF all are very well established in the recruiting hotbeds in NC. I'd be happy getting a kid or 2 every couple of years. They grow DL on trees in that state.
As for Fields, his offer will come down to McFadden and the TX kids and their interest. We have Toliver, Lewis will be back and good vibes coming from McFadden and a couple of TX CBs. Can we take 4 CBs in the class? Have to be the right guy for that fourth spot. Maybe Fields comes to camp and earns it

Hey lsufanva, besides Elam, who's the other Texas CB? I would love to land Sheffield, but it looks like he's either A&M or Texas.

Don't think so

In NC there are no "true" football schools. Its more of a school rivalry than a "football" rivalry. Clemson and SC are the two big schools around here with the biggest football rivalry. VT used to be the school that took talent from here and still do. I would think a serious football player being offered by LSU would be tough to resist. Have to start 1 by 1 to build that pipeline.

I dont know why we haven't offered the kid. He would commit on the spot

We aren't all that loaded at CB. We signed 1 in 2013 and white and Robinson will probably be 3 and done. We need to sign a bunch this year.

my point exactly.. how are we loaded a CB.. We signed ED paris who IMO can play better at safety but other than that we signed no 'real' proven corner back this year.. if robinson or white has an injury (god forbides) we will see how 'loaded' we are. I think we need more Tollivers in the 2015 class

Well I'll be sure to help with the NC pipeline, I live in Raleigh. Originally from Louisiana. Part of the NC LSU Alumni. Would be nice to see more kids from NC get a shot to play for one of the best programs!
