i presume you shite on posts celebrating when LSU players test well, too
why would that be necessary.

not that it doesn't matter at all, but the balls that Jarvis is going to be expected to handle in the league will not be jump balls.
the vertical is more about explosiveness than actual jumping. same with the broad. he did terrible in both
lack of explosiveness is a major concern when going from college to the NFL

either the tests matter, or they don't

Damn, that's not good news. 4.65 forty. I was hoping for at least a4.50

I agree the tests matter. We're going to see him fall quite a bit if his combine continues to suck. He can catch anything that comes his way, sure, but if he's can't get open, what good is that?

Yes it is a big concern for the players whose game is predicated on Explosiveness!! Do you not understand that his game is not based on his athleticism and explosiveness?
ETA: ODB's game is based on speed, so he had to test well! I love the comparison they used for Juice in Hines Ward. Hines ran a 4.55/ 30 inch vert, and 9' broad!

Ok then. I guess they don't.

either the functionality matter or it doesn't.
I am much more concerned with the 4.65 than the vertical. Safeties will just eat him alive if he has no threat to go vertical, and some of the faster LBs can cover him depending on pass rush schemes.
Vertical wasn't and isn't a big factor. No more than it is for Welker, and I cant imagine he jumped much over 30.

Then please tell me how Anquan Boldin and Hines Ward survived in the league, don't worry I'll wait!

Hopefully he falls to the Saints
It's clear that to get to the Super Bowl now, the Saints are going to have to step up the physical play to get through Seattle or San Fran. I would love if he went to the Saints. He's one of the most physical WRs I've ever seen at LSU and is a phenomenal receiver. We need more physical receivers against tough defenses.

2 guys out of thousands who failed due to physical ability. great point.
and boldin was a lot bigger and tested more explosive than landry has tested

Landry needed to test better to see the first or early second.
I still don't know why one would bash the good performances.

what makes no sense? You don't think he would pose more matchup problems at 4.45 than 4.65?

the vertical is an overall measure of explosiveness (broad, too). that matters a lot more, especially for a guy who isn't a burner. that's how slot WRs (like what landry will be) get open
