We tried to make a little ride and one got towed out, the others were high centering while my Rancher with dirt hooks did laps.

of course FTT is comparing an atv to a utv.

I don't see how people have problems with ranchers
we have run several over the past decade, every day of the year, and we have no problems

my lifted and snorkeled 1998 foreman 450ES is actually a beast when the damn ES is working right.

have driven mine with 2 200 lb men and gear through slop and water coming over the seat several times without a hiccup or cough.

I know they aren't in the same class but everybody I know dumped their Rancher and got a Ranger with 3" lift, winch, and tires and these Ranchers walk circles around them.
Mange a bunch of land and have to haul fencing materials, feed etc, and yes, a Ranger is awesome.
Hunt and drive in the woods, swamp etc and only tote yourself and maybe a deer...,. Can't beat a Rancher.
The younguns and their status symbol Rangers and boom boxes

I completely see your point.
Don't look for a boom box, or fancy colored undercarriage lights, or padded cup holders on my ride.
You are much more likely to find blood, hair, a few wrenches just in case, a tow rope for pulling hogs too heavy to lift, and machete.
But considering I have two boys rapidly reaching my size and a wife who likes to hunt, and I put out over 1200 lbs of feed in the last week, I need the utility of a larger vehicle.

Accessories
lift and ITP wheels and mudlite tires, front cv boot skid plates, and a snorkeled intake and exhaust.
not one bit of issue with any of that
the freaking foreman ES is just known for lots and lots of shift problems. I bought it off my brother to get him out of a bind with out researching what I wanted.
