I think Drew is just laying the ground work for an under the table payment to Jimmy in the form of a Jimmy Johns in Covington.

If drew didn't have the franchise people would be bashing it more

Jimmy Johns is great. Fresh ingredients and bread. Tough crowd here.

What, the 2 vegetables they use are fresh? Shredded lettuce and tomatoes? plus all sandwiches come standard with a glob of mayo and they have no other variety of sauces.

Jimmy johns is horrible.

Local sandwich shop that loves what they do, makes their own food, and makes good sandwiches that taste good >>>>Firehouse>>>Quiznos > Jimmy Johns > Subway

When I want to know how to read a defense, how to take football serious, and how to compete at the highest level in football, I'll ask a professional quarterback. I'll ask Drew Brees. When I want to find how to best maximize profits just to fatten the bottom line and skate the line in ethics or principles associated with a particular business, I'll ask most business execs these days. I'll ask all business grad chain execs.

That's what they are proficient at because that's what direction they decided to take in life and what drives them.

That being said, when I want to know how to make great food, appreciate the elements that make it taste better than average nonsense I'll ask a foodie who is passionate about what they do. I'll ask a chef who dedicates absurd hours to a profession he's almost always underpaid in because of his passion and commitment to those ideals he chooses to make his profession.

I mean, Geaux Saints!!! Geaux Drew!!! God bless dem boys!!!!

But how bout Geaux Food Too!!!!

Having money and power or financial backing does not equate to you knowing anything about food or what makes it taste good. I don't know how many times people have to learn the same lessons over and over until they finally understand this concept.

I don't get the hype for those shitty sandwiches.

I don't know about you but I like some meat on my sandwich.

You mean the iceberg lettuce and hormel grocery store ham and mayo isn't doing it for you?

This is the only reason I can see why these places are still in business. Their sandwiches are dry and flavorless. I can make a beter sandwich at home with luncheon meat from the grocery store.

It needs to be over on 190 by the Northpark business center (Chevron, Poole, Hornbeck, etc).

Which Which, Firehouse and Quizno's are nearby and I like them better but they also cost more. Subway is their only price competitor and Subway sucks horribly and does not deliver.

I get this for $5: "The Vito", Capicola, Pepperoni, Salami, Italian vinaigrette, spicy mustard and add cherry pepper slices. Mayo isn't even part of the sub unless you ask for it. The sliced white onions are nice.

If this thread makes three pages it's kind of embarrassing.

I have been in one once, and looked at the menu. I walked out when I was done reading it.

JJ's is edible if you beg them to go easy on the mayo. That's about the best compliment I can give them.

I'd eat this dude's foot sandwich before I eat another one of JJ's.

Clearly, because most people when making a Poboy sandwich at home I would think go that extra mile to make sure it tastes really good, and quite probably for less than JJ's charges. Not even going all out though, it shouldn't be too difficult to top.
