Just wanted to post some snippets from Petevo's UK bio.

quote:

As LSU's special teams coordinator, Peveto had both his punter (Patrick Fisher) and placekicker (Colt David) earn first-team All-SEC honors in 2007, marking the first time in school history that LSU had the All-SEC punter and kicker on its roster in the same season. Fisher had a great season with a league-best average of 44.5 yards per punt, while David drilled a school-record 26 field goals, leading the SEC in scoring with 147 total points, which was a league record.

Peveto led LSU's special teams to solid seasons in 2005 and 2006. In 2005, the Tigers were one of the best special teams units in the nation, ranking first in the conference in net punting and kickoff coverage and second in the league in punt returns. Nationally, LSU ranked fifth in the nation in net punting and 12th nationally in punt return average. Skyler Green was named first-team All-America as a return specialist.

In 2006, Peveto directed special teams units that returned both a punt and kickoff for touchdowns. LSU return specialist Craig "Buster" Davis earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2006 after averaging 14.2 yards on punt returns and was picked in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.

In three years as LSU's special teams coordinator, the Tigers returned two punts for touchdowns and a pair of kickoffs for a score. They also blocked six kicks, converted 49-of-71 field goals and 165-of-167 extra points.

quote:

While coaching the Demons, Peveto brought in highly ranked recruiting classes with his first signing class ranking No. 1 among NCAA Football Championship Subdivision schools by Rivals.com, while his 2010 class ranked fourth in the FCS by Rivals.com.

Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerCBS
#LSU has offered #UK assistant Bradley Dale Peveto its S-T coordinator job, per source. He's expected to accept.

For those who aren't twitter savvy, Jeremy Fowler from CBS is saying that LSU has already offered Peveto the job.

LSu was horrendous in net punting the entire time peveto was here, he landed 2 recruits with a pulse in 4 years who weren't pursued by the hometown college yet somehow the rantard logic here is that bc he failed horribly as a DC and set the program back 3 years and failed horribly as a HC then it means he is now a great position coach who is awesome at recruiting east Texas despite not landing anyone from east Texas who contributed in 4 years. Can't wait for the power struggle btwn he and Ensminger though.

Well the reality is not everyone on the staff will be a "game changing" recruiter, especially at ST coordinator. Did you consider McCaughey a "game changing" recruiter?

The point is we already have enough old guys on staff bc they're besties with Les who don't pull their own weight in recruiting. Do we need to lose all five of Louisiana's top five players before we realize maybe Frank Wilson versus the entire staffs of Alabama and Texas A and M is not going to cut it? We need to get rid of Adam Henry and Raymond while we're at it so Les can have Don Yanowsky and Bill Clay back around the campfire patting him on the back.

Where do I begin...

quote:

LSu was horrendous in net punting the entire time peveto was here

-Lol. Our special teams were good to great across the board.
-you dismiss him as a bad recruiter because he wasn't our primary recruiter
quote:

he failed horribly as a DC

Mallory was the primary DC, though they were titled co-DC's, yet people want to shite all over Peveto and forget about Mallory. Classic rantard logic. And we tried to keep Peveto on staff to help Chavis coach linebackers and he was pursued as an assistant and recruiter by Saban before he took the NWST job. But let's gloss over that.
quote:

bc he failed horribly as a DC and set the program back 3 years and failed horribly as a HC then it means he is now a great position coach who is awesome at recruiting east Texas despite not landing anyone from east Texas who contributed in 4 years.

Where exactly did anyone say that BECAUSE the Co-DC experiment failed and he didn't do well as a HC that he will now be great as a ST coach? People are saying he is a good ST coach because he's a good ST coach.
quote:

You clearly never even heard of peveto

Yep, nailed it.

I'm sure Chavis really wanted and needed that help. We wouldn't even remember Riley and Sheppard if Chavis didn't completely transform them from below average players under Bradley Dale to actual competent LBs.

We were 77th in the nation in net punting in 2005, 97th in 2006, 50th in 2007. We also called a fake punt out of our own endzone in Peveto's first game without Miles' knowledge.

How are those good to great?

quote:

you dismiss him as a bad recruiter because he wasn't our primary recruiter

So your position is that he was the secret secondary uncredited recruiter on Larry porter's recruits? Cute.

Why does this say differently?

We get it. You don't like the hire.

There's absolutely nothing positive that will come out of your incessant complaining about the hire.
