Anyone else think we should hire Avery Johnson when Monty gets fired? Hes a local guy from New Orleans and hes not afraid to yell at his players when there doing something wrong. I don't think he would lose control of the team the way Monty did. He did a good job a few years ago with the Mavericks and I don't think he got a fair chance in Brooklyn. Everyone's saying George Karl but i think Avery would be the better option. I think we should give him a shot, he could be the perfect coach for AD. Thoughts?

Hell no! Avery is one of the few that would make me want to keep Monty!

frick no and he is the only reason i'd be worried when monty gets the ax. I'm scared he may be the replacement. i'd rather keep monty and I dislike monty very much

The team just doesn't seem to be giving enough effort and I think its due to Monty, the team doesn't want to play hard for him and I think its time to part ways.

Why?

George Karl has a track record of having good offenses but he can never seem to win in the postseason, im not content with just getting to the playoffs I want to win it all while AD is here. I think Avery might have more potential to win in the playoffs then George Karl.

I'm not for it. I just wanted to know how Monty had lost control of the team.

Do you think he just forgets how to coach in the playoffs? Or his players just stop playing?

Or is it just really fricking hard to win an NBA championship? 9 different teams have won NBA Championships since 1980. 9!

Exactly.

Karl is successful as frick. Hasn't he not made the playoffs like twice? And made it every other year? Dude is a great coach.

Realistically, we may never win a championship because of how the NBA is structured. But if we are ultra competitive every year and making Conference Finals and the like...I'm good.

I think its his style of coaching, his up tempo offensive teams are good for regular season wins but that style doesn't translate well to the playoffs.

Worked in Seattle.

ETA: How's Denver doing minus George Karl?

I don't think this is very fair to Karl.

Guy is a career .600 coach and has been at least partially successful at every stop he's been.

Anything that happened in Denver should be viewed as a notch on his resume, not a black mark.

He had to coach a Melo team and then a Melo-less team with no superstar in the playoffs.

Give him Davis/Jrue/Reke/Gordon/Anderson and see what happens. That's the most pure talent he's had since being in Seattle.

Unfortunately, I think Monty does enough the rest of the year to save his job, unless we have a fire sale on players to set us up for next year.

So, I think we are going to miss out on Karl.

Not to good because they made a terrible decision to hire Brian Shaw.

I'm praying inside that Tom Thibodeau gets the axe the more and more chicago presses the reset button and he disagrees with ownership's direction with resetting. If they trade Noah for young assets, you could probably open the door for thibs to leave because he's po'd
