Yeah, I think she'll wind up hurting Frank because she still cares about Russo. I thought she was gonna have a bigger role this season too.

But the next season, imho, Frank falls hard. Janine and the former editor will work with the imprisoned journalist to somehow get news out, and Christina, the hackers and Rachel help them connect the dots in the story.
Is it bad that I hope none of this happens?

Team Underwood, baby.

Yeah, I am wondering what this hacker will do now that Stamper is dead. He doesn't trust Green and the FBI at all. Maybe he just goes into total frick you mode.

Totally plausible, and I don't have a big problem with none of the other guests coming forward. But in real life, yeah, someone would have stepped into the limelight for that one. Claire had to have a least talked to one other person at that party to make somewhat of an impression beyond just being another face in the crowd.

I'm much more bothered about the picture, as you can clearly see, hahaha

Overall though, I do think I liked the first season more - I was more entertained by the politician vs. reporter concept than the politician vs. rich donor story line. But, in that regard, killing of Zoe right away to switch it up was a good move on the writer's part -- a whole second season of Frank beating down a reporter would have been too much like the first.

I'm almost positive he was buying her pictures, not his. I haven't noticed any plot holes so far, so if this turns out to be one, I'll:

A) Be impressed that you picked up on it and

B) Throw you in front of the subway for ruining it.

Oh, don't worry, I'm with you pulling for Frank, haha.

And I think Christina is the one who might not hurt Frank -- she does seem ambitious and on an upward mobility, so I could easily see the writers have her inform Frank next season that Lucas is working with Janine, Hammerschmidt and the hackers to piece it all together. She may be willing to help end the poking into Russo's death for a nice comfy job. But the two journalists, the editor and the hackers are def gonna come at Frank next season.

I think Christina already sees a little of what happened.

Honestly my biggest problem with this season was the back and forth between the president and underwood.

You're lying! No...I am your best friend. Oh ok...you're my best friend and the only person I can trust.

Next episode...You're lying! I never want to see you again! Nuh uh....let me write this letter on an old typewriter. Oh neat...I love you again.

Ok, so walk me through it here tho -- if Remy bought Galloway's assistant's photos, the assistant just gave Remy a Galloway photo of Claire as a bonus? How did the assistant even know Galloway had that photo then? Wasn't he like taking and printing photos of Claire alone in his apartment last season?

Regardless of whose photos he was buying, I'm still confused and oddly stuck on this point about how Remy got that photo. I need to just go back to that episode and see if the photo was one of the ones on display in the studio and I just didn't see it.

I can kind of understand that. The thing that saved him there was Claire; if she hadn't been close to Trish and if Trish hadn't bought in, the letter would've backfired.

I agree -- when Lucas approached her laying out his theory, she had to have at least connected some of those dots. The question is if she'll fight for Russo or work against the reporters/hackers by letting Frank know in exchange for some sort of favoritism.

haha, yeah that did get a little annoying, but I think it was a nice different approach to take for the season. If it was Frank butting heads with a pushy reporter, it would have just been season 1 all over again. Having his main rivals this season be Tusk, the donor, and Garrett, the president, worked well this season, imho.

I was suggesting that he bought all of her work in the hopes that she'd dig something up on Claire.

Totally guessing; I'm at work and while I could pull up House of Cards here, I'd end up spending the entire day watching it and not see a single customer.

This season it seemed to really appear that Clare was the brains behind Underwood. Every time he got stuck she came up with a solution.

I wouldn't go that far. She's obviously almost as cold as he is, and clearly as smart, but I wouldn't say she was the "brains" behind things. He does entirely too much thinking on his feet for that.

haha please don't lose your job watching HoC b/c of my crazy obsession on this picture deal.

And I guess that suggestion -- that Remy bought Galloway's assistant's photos so she would in turn find out more about Galloway and Claire -- is possible, but I just not sure how I'm supposed to "leap frog" to that point without any explanation.

I'm also not sure anyone even knew about that photo except for Galloway and Claire. The assistant would have had to like sneak into Galloway's home and dig through his private photo collection to get her hands on that, right?

Maybe I need to go back to season 1 and watch just what Galloway was doing with that photo originally. Maybe I'm forgetting how the assistant knew about the photo from something shown the first season. Idk, all this is making me feel a little crazy, haha

Like I posted earlier in this thread about Jackie becoming whip -- we don't need the show to spell out that she DID become whip, b/c cutting the deal and screwing the old man was enough for us to realize that's happening. Even with an omission of a roll-call vote to name her whip, it is still CLEAR what's happening. The picture part, imho, is just muddy.

There were a couple of instances where it seemed like Frank would have gone down in flames if it weren't for an idea from Clare though.

Anyways...I enjoyed this season, but the complete incompetency of the president was a little annoying.

I'm self employed, so I could technically do it, I just... You know... Want to have money.

This is bugging me now, too.

Absolutely, but that doesn't, imho, make her the brains behind Frank. It does, however, show the importance of their marriage as they pull each other through the hard spots. They seem pretty mutually beneficial.

My guess with the photos was that he bought her entire collection...gave her some exorbitant amount. Then maybe asked her if she had anything else lying around.

Or maybe she was disgruntled? Seems like they could have thrown in a line leading people to believe that.

Not really a solid explanation.

All I remember was him saying I will take everything. And she was shocked.

I don't really remember the lines before that...she didn't seem to hate Galloway.
