Marty never had on a sweater that night. When he got home that evening (after working late) his kids were already asleep. The next morning Michelle M asked why he didn't come to bed last night (he was still wearing the shirt he had on from the day before). Michelle M mentioned that she hadn't really seen him in the last few days. She would not have said that if they had all had dinner the night before.

Why would Rust and Marty need lie about the dinner at Marty's house? I think Bro Mouzone knows they are lying.

So the events from ACT 1 could be scattered? It's definitely a plausible.

Rust showed up drunk the first night they were supposed to have dinner. He went home and they had dinner another night. You knew that right? I'll have to go rewatch tho

Its been discussed in the episode 1 thread but it wasn't the same night. The night he invited him Rust ended up going to the bar and interviewing the two women. They had dinner another night.

I do agree about the dinner. I just rewatched the episode and the way the edits are and how the characters talk about it just makes it really ambigous as to when the dinner actually happened. Hart at one point says "oh that was much later"
