Gabby Giffords husband shows his dishonesty, again

Former astronaut Mark Kelly’s testimony yesterday before an Oregon State Senate panel to support so-called “universal background check” legislation in the Beaver State once again relied on examples of crimes that would not have been prevented if the measure had been in place when the shootings occurred.
Mr. Kelly, testifying before the state Senate Judiciary Committee, observed,
quote:
“The year before the Columbine massacre, Kip Kinkel killed two and wounded 22 others at Thurston High School
But wait... Prior to bringing his guns to school, Kinkel murdered both of his parents, who were both educators. He drove his mother’s car to the high school and opened fire. He killed two students there and, as Kelly noted, wounded 22 others. The guns were purchased by his father, so a background check would have made no difference.
Logic fail.
quote:
and just three days before the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, a shooter turned Clackamas Town Center into a place of terror and carnage.”
umm.. wait again... Jacob Tyler Roberts, the 22-year-old shooter at Clackamas Town Center, apparently stole the rifle he used from an acquaintance. No background check law could have prevented that.
quote:
Kelly mentioned the Forza coffee shop shooting of four Lakewood police officers
Surely.. a background check would have worked this time, right? Well... not so much....Gunman Maurice Clemmons was a convicted felon. One of the guns he carried was confirmed stolen. He also stole the pistol carried by Officer Greg Richards after killing him, and that was the pistol Clemmons was carrying two days later when he was fatally shot by a Seattle police officer.
But hey... his wife was shot.. ignore facts.

I don't understand what he gets out of these blatant lies each time he opens his mouth.

He and his wife have turned into the biggest gun control pawns. I'd say I felt sorry for them if it weren't so obvious that they're willing piece of shite shills.

Star power at cocktail parties amongst the elites. That's what its about in Rome these days.

Yeah i guess they figured Brady’s fame was worn out so they found a new shill.
I just can't take either of them serious anymore.

Capt. Kelly should stick to space travel.

What's really impressive is the systematic suppression of any link between severe mental illness and gun violence. Perhaps it's because so many gun control advocates have a family history of mental illness?

or maybe shitting on the mental health system is one of liberalism's earlier "achievements"

He can't be questioned or criticized because his wife was shot.

What they really want to do is take away the guns. Then there aren't any to steal.

Pass all the gun laws you want but it's going to have zero effect since criminals, by definition, don't follow laws.
It's so silly to me to think that a gun law is going to prevent someone from commiting murder.

I left NASA before he came along, but I just don't see how anyone with the rational mentality it takes to succeed in the space business can be so easily manipulated - or who lacks the integrity to allow himself to be so easily whored out.
Big disappointment there.

Dude was an astronaut. He gets a pass.

No. He doesn't get a pass. Nobody gets a pass when they infringe or attempt to infringe on the Constitutional Rights of others.

Once the French had astronauts all bets were off.
But in reality no he does not get a pass. So he went into space so have 559 other people. I'm not going to let them infringe on my rights either. As for his wife, sorry she got shot but it makes her opinion no more important to be than any other person on earth or in space.
