Do you see Michael Patterson contributing this year?

I know Michael (MJ) from his high school years. Just curious if anyone thinks he will get any playing time this coming season.

Do you know how he's progressed during his redshirt year?
Put on some good weight?
I'd love to see MJ develop into a great pass rusher for us

Haven't heard much, which is why I was asking. I know he was thin coming out of high school. But boy was he quick off the edge! Hope someone can get us some updated info.

Hes got good height and speed and talent. A lot of potential.
But i dont see him contributing next year. He might see a little PT/mop up duty. But Rasco, Hunter, and Allen are our top 3 DEs. And even though its been said Beckwith is moving back to LB, I could see him playing DE in certain situations.
I was very impressed with how Hunter improved as the year went on. I expect him to be a MONSTER next year, and an all SEC performer.
I could see Patterson playing on STs because of his size and speed. And as long as he keeps his head down and works hard and takes care of what he needs to take care of, he will be on the field for us in the near future.

I think he could be a difference maker on special teams. He loved the crack back blocks in HS. Not afraid to hit you

He's put on weight. Bower put on alot of good weight too. Both of those guys are physical freaks

Hometown boy. I'd like to to see him get some PT, he's got drive and he's smart. Maybe he can get on the field early in the season and impress the Chief.

They could use his speed on the edge for sure

1. Hunter (I expect huge things for him! Maybe even enough for him to declare, which I hope not.)
2. Rasco
3. Bower (He's got a year in the system with a little PT)
4. Allen
I could see Michael get significant ST's snaps this year. After all Mingo started out on kick coverage but that kid was an absolute freak!

I think Patterson is comparable to mingo. He's a really good athlete for a defensive end. Anytime you split time at DE and WR, not TE...WR, that says something about your athleticism. We will actually have a ton of young d linemen...his contribution will be small at this point, but he's a kid that can explode onto the scene like Hunter.

Glad to hear he's put on some muscle. Figured Moffitt would do good work with him. If he gets to Mingo type size & strength and keeps his speed, I think he could help in a few different places

Lewis-Neal might be ahead of Allen this year. I know he played before Patterson last year too.
1. Rasco
2. Hunter
3. Bower
4. Neal/Allen
6. Patterson
7. Teuhema

Herron should be a DT.

lsu returns 3 DEs with a ton of experience in Jordan Allen, Hunter, and Rasco so I dont think he'll see much pt this year. plus lewis neal and bower seemed to get the highest reviews of the true freshman last year.

I want this bad however I see it playing out more like this:
1. Rasco
2. Hunter
3. Allen
4. Neal/Bower/Clark
5. Patterson/Teuhema
IMHO I would use Patterson on Special Teams this year. I put Clark ahead just because of the type of player he already is. He's going to be a great one.

Is michael patterson a recruit for 2015? If not then this may be the wrong board but what do I know.
