2015 Louisiana class - WR

Was just looking over some state rankings for next year. Looks to me like we are very top heavy at the wideout position. Hopefully we get who we want, but it seems some good wr's may get out of state. I hope the staff does good evals on these kids, and all make it to our camp. Besides the obvious in Johnson, who are some other WR prospects to keep an eye on?

Javonte Woodard from Haughton is very good. He is 6'1 and weighs 190. Kid is very explosive. Has a 36 inch vertical. Led the Bucs in catches and TD this year. Has been to state track meet every year in high school in long jump and hurdles

I like the out of state guys Carlos Strickland from Tx. and John Burt from Fla. In state, I really like Stanley Morgan.

What about Daylon Charlot who just committed to bama? Where's he rank in the LA 2015 WR class?

Very impressive indeed was Woodard. I remember him from the playoff game looking like a athlete

Honestly I don't remember seeing any WRs this year standout live. Well Quinn, but he's already signed.

Johnson, Morgan, chigbu are on the radar for sure. Ferguson is a tall kid, but still looks a little awkward. I heard some rumbling of him being a TE prospect a while back. He can go get it though.
Also, Derrick Dillon is probably viewed as a db, but one of those great athletes that could also end up on offense.

Johnson and Ferguson are my two personal favorites right now.

I've seen Charlot and Tyron Johnson from Warren Easton and Johnson is much better. We got some catching up to do with Johnson. A&M has been on him way longer and we really need to realize that with Terry Joseph now on their Staff specifically to recruit NOLA and LA, that they are a threat.

Off the radar are 4 receivers out of st. Charles parish. Merritt and Alfred smith from destrehan and singleton and Preston from hahnville. They could basically all fall under the athlete category, but will all play offense in college.

Time to put the press on Johnson and the Warren Easton crew.

I've heard A&M is very high on his list. I believe if we can show a consistent passing game this year, we should be fine hopefully

Didn't Dillon and Morgan recently get their LSU offers? I thought I had read it here on the board that both have already been offered. I know JRev said Devante Peete reached out to he and Dylan during the UA game in Florida. Will be interesting to see how next years class shapes up with all the hybrid WR/DB/ATH guys.

quote:Well, I'm not sure this will be a passing year. I just think with an experience Oline, the running game and defense may have to hold it down. I do look for 2015 to be an explosive year offensively. However, if the QB in 2014 can earn Les' trust, we never know.
