I don't have kids... but when we do, I would hope my husband would take off equally as much time as I do if they are sick. I don't think it would be fair for me to always be the one taking off work.
I would not expect him to take off as much maternity leave as myself (since his man-boobs don't produce milk, wouldn't make much sense). BUT... sure would be nice to transition that role to him if I needed to.
