I'll look into some of these.

And just to clarify, it's not for a firearm. It's actually for a 5" 9mm barrel for my M&P. I asked the guy if he banks with Chase so I could just do a quickpay but he said he doesn't and would prefer a Cert. Check or MO.

I guess the cheapest I've seen here is Walmart. Then again if I go to the post office and I can do it all in one stop.

Bapple,

a USPS MO costs $1.20

To cash a postal money order you have to either deposit into your bank account or present your DL with matching name and address at the postal counter.

If someone accepts / cashes a USPS money order and does not ship the item, it is mail fraud. It is a felony crime. Any such crimes would be investigated by the US Postal Inspectors Service.

I always send a postal MO via certified mail, return receipt so you have that added protection with full documentation ( paper trail).

There is no recourse for mail fraud if some cashes a "Circle K" .59 cent MO and fails to send the purchased item.

I've been buying/selling hunting stuff since before i-net hunting classified forums existed. Back in the day(1990), items were bought and sold through Gun List and Shotgun News magazine that you bought at a news stand.
