Gasping for my last breaths....his personal Super Bowl Party with all the Georgia Coaches was the last straw. At least he is notifying people, which is in line with his personality vs. drama and 'gonna shock the world'. He showed LSU great respect and that should be returned. Good Luck Lorenzo!!!!

If its UGA, At least Carter would be going somewhere that he would not be a threat to LSU, or any other SEC team for that matter!

Sucks we couldn't pull him.

Saban himself is responsible.

Maybe he won't threaten us with a gun, but he is likely to sack our quarterback more times in one game than we did as a team last year. Same for every other SEC school they play. He is an athlete who is going to be remembered for a long time. UGA did every thing they had to do to keep him and we did all we could to try and recruit him.
We desperately need another pair of elite speed rushing ends. Rasco led with 4 sks.

According to a reliable inside guy with UGA, LSU is the second place team with Carter. I won't breath easy until his fax in it, but thought you might want to know that.

I thought there was way more benefit for him here than any of other schools - defense scheme,PT, some of the things he said about LSU and GA (and for that matter Pruitt). So I had more hope for him. Too bad

Oh how quickly 44-41 is forgotten.

Sucks he'd rather sign with a D-Coordinator that's been at 3 schools in 3 years.

Tracy Rocker, the new DL coach, may have been a bigger influence than Pruitt. The Atlanta native won major awards as a player, has coached a 2 star DE into a first round pick, and put DEs in the first round. He has played in the NFL and coached there.
Mom and Dad were strong advocates of him staying home and very happy with the immediate playing time he was promised. UGA bet the farm and put up the money to land the #1 in-state recruit. Richt was under immense pressure to land Carter.
Has Carter notified LSU yet like UF and FSU?

Richt was under immense pressure to have a competent defense next year. Carter or not this class is extremely strong, despite low numbers. But yes, Carter was extremely important in making a statement but I think Carter was ours regardless of defensive coaches.

Clarification:
Apparently all is not yet lost for Lorenzo. There were some rumors reporting the UGA decision had been made. According to his Mother in an AJC article around noon, he is spending this evening hard at work on the schools in which he is still interested.
Lorenzo reportedly notified two schools UF and FSU that he had eliminated them (per this board), had his phone number changed and is "working on his decision". This is per AJC article 2 hours ago. If LSU has not been notified then it is still a 2 school race for which he is still weighing options. For us to still be in it, against such odds, is not insignificant.
According to his Mother: LINK
“He just wants to take his time and look over the different options that he has. Who does he feel most comfortable with? He wants to go ahead and narrow it down. If there’s a particular school he wants to eliminate, he wants to go ahead and make contact with those coaches so they can have the opportunity to extend an opportunity to someone else, rather than waiting. He has got a lot to work on with his decision.”

I don't think many recruits care about scheme all that much. It's one small piece of the puzzle and I don't think it's ever the main reason why they would choose a school.
