What guys? Locals?

Yes..As much as it sucks that your friend making baits loses his job, Bass Pro creates 100 more..

Why would a local without the backing from huge banks, or even their own government, or basic loyalty from their neighbors do that?

A good enough product is supported no matter what..You think if local Joe the paddle maker was offered a deal with Bass Pro he would turn it down..?

There is a very good reason that some places get richer and some places remain poor and get poorer. We are a prime example of it. There are those who have figured out how to capitalize on your labor (money) and soak you, taking your money and running back to their home state that enjoys it, and leaving your community poorer in the process. Then there are those who have figured it all out. You have a very long way to go, but the first step before all others is for you to realize where your condition (our condition as a community and state) comes from. You either become a community and point of destination, or you remain a truck stop on the road to somewhere else. Your choice... Be like the others in the gutter, or choose to aspire to something greater than that and benefit financially from it in the process in wealth creation as well as funding your basic infrastructure.
