a. Louisiana has a constitution.

b. This constitution was amended by the public last year to require that all statutes pass the "strict scrutiny" test of constitutionality.

c. Several lower court (district) judges have already dismissed charges of illegal carrying of firearms by felons. (It's my understanding that in some of these cases the DA's are appealing the rulings.)

d. If the lower court rulings are upheld, the court system may well decide that if felons can carry concealed without a permit, why make law-abiding citizens apply for a permit.

e. Turning gun control over to La. judges (instead of leaving control with the La. legislature) may prove to be one of the dumbest things the voters have ever done in this state.
