OH! While I was thinking about the trigger, OP try and look at the Walther PPQ M2. That is a FINE weapon. The trigger and ergos are superb!
This may be BS. But I believe S&W distributes Walther. The reason why the PPQ doesn't get a lot of attention is because it is a direct competition to the M&P.

I haven't ever met anyone who wasn't taken back by the trigger. It is just 100% predictable, even for someone who hasn't ever shot a pistol.
I also shoot it better than any pistol I have ever shot. I believe that is a direct result of the ergonomics and trigger
OP, Shooters Club in Harahan has guns for you to rent. It isn't the best selection, but they have them
