Thanks. Been there and watched a bunch of them. Good videos - informative and helpful.

Not a first time buyer (third time actually), I just cannot decide what I want. Part of my problem is i have multiple needs. So, I think I'll just have to make multiple purchases until all needs are met.

When in doubt, buy them all! I like the way this guy thinks. Everyone on the outdoor board can now breathe a sigh of relief. I think BrotherEsau is going to be just fine.

Sounds like it because...

What do y'all got? This will be for home defense, occasional carry/car and shooting.

When you say this, you really start to think about size constraints. For a home defense pistol, something full sized is your best fit. But if you plan on carrying it, lugging around a 5" Remington 1911 may not be ideal (although some people do it daily).

I prefer to carry something that I KNOW I will have with me. If that means I have to sacrifice on size (and possibly a couple rounds), it's worth the tradeoff. The other option is not being armed at all, which is never good.

But I think for your situation, you would be best suited with a compact. I love my Ruger SR9c since it is capable of accepting a full size SR9 magazine, but I can also use the flush 10 round magazine if I want to comfortably carry it. I have also carried it with the 17 rounder before, but I find it prints more when I do that (with my carry method at least).

I need a new gun. I think I want an all steel either 9mm or .45. If I go .45 I want a 1911 I think, but don't have big $$. Budget is $400-600.

I'm leaning towards cz75 and the knockoffs (baby eagle, eaa witness), Baretta 92, maybe a PX4, Remington 1911, or maybe a Sig P220.

Most of these are metal-framed pistols, so I think it would be a good decision for this to be a home defense pistol and recreational pistol exclusively.

If you haven't already decided on a dedicated carry pistol, that is something else you can figure out as well. But I think you will become tired of carrying a full metal handgun. I could be wrong though; stranger things have happened.
