On Campus Living

I'm a freshman in college planning to transfer to LSU this Fall, my sophomore year. I was planning to live in an on campus apartment, but just recently found the upperclass-only requirement.
I want to room with my friend who will only have 21 credit hours by the Fall. How strict are they on enforcing this policy? Is it impossible for us to get an ECA/WCA?
If the apartments aren't possible, is the engineering dorm a decent alternative? We're both engineering majors.
I'm only interested in on campus living and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Only upperclassmen can live in the apartments? Since when?

where is the engineering dorm?
eta: oh i thinks thats the old ghetto graham. never been inside but it looks pretty nice. im sure that would workout just fine. plus its right next to WCA so if you have friends that are in there you are right next door.

Near the field house and track. The newer ones they built recently.

I don't know how strict they are, but there's probably a good reason they have that requirement.

Where are you transferring from?

also why are you so dead set on on campus living? off campus is better.

Engineering dorms were nice when I was in them 4 years ago.

I think an upperclassman in college is anyone not a freshman. I lived in the WCA my sophomore and junior years and my brother was a sophomore living in the ECA last year.

Exactly. Cheaper and without the rules.

1) try off campus, it's cheaper
2) if you are set on living on campus, the engineering dorms are very nice
3) i don't think it's a credit hours thing, i think it's a year thing. as long as you are in your second year, i think you're good to apply for ECA/WCA

I should've been more clear. I'm wondering if roommate will be able to apply there, since he is only a freshman.

Get off campus, there's a ton of places really close to campus where you can still ride your mom's bike to class.

as in he is currently a freshman? then yes. if he is a senior in HS currently then no

They aren't, but you REALLY think that there isn't demand for those apartments, and those who are already at LSU don't have an advantage over you?

I've heard of them putting freshman in on-campus apartments, but only if all the dorms are full. Try emailing someone from Res Life. Most likely you'll have to look off campus.
*if's he's a freshman now, and will be a sophomore next fall, then yes he can apply

Of course there is demand for them. I'm assuming January isn't too late to apply for a room, though, is it?

Don't think freshman can live in the on campus apartments. The new engineering dorms are nice. Try getting into south hall
