Started hunting and fishing with my grandfather till he passed away when I was in 5th grade. Started hunting and fishing again in high school with friends; my dad never had an interest in hunting or fishing. Deer hunted for a number of years until I realized that I liked everything about deer hunting except getting up early and sitting on a cold deer stand waiting for deer.

Started transitioning into duck hunting at this point and got my first shorthair shortly after. Trained him to retrieve and quickly learned that he wanted to hunt birds. Figured I would give quail hunting a try to I learned that quail in huntable numbers were all but gone from South Louisiana.

choupiquesushi and I were on another forum many years ago and he guided me into the world of woodcock hunting. I have 3 dogs now, can hunt alone or with friends. Don't have to get up early, even when it is cold the weather feels good because I am walking, etc...

I mainly carry side by side shotguns bird hunting

I make a couple of coastal saltwater trips a year, just not as much time as I would like with 2 kids and their activities...
