Most people, when they stop the pick up their children from a day care facility, go in without locking the doors of their car behind them.

Thieves wait for that moment to make a quick grab of anything they can get their hands on while the parent is inside.

It's all done in less than 30-45 seconds.

So, if you have kids in day care, please lock your doors when you go inside to pick up your children.

This happened to an individual right in front of me last week. The mom was walking her kids out to the car and the perp had already left the scene.

Thieves were in a Green SUV. They believe it was a Tahoe.

Honestly I'm guilty of this in the morning or in the afternoon.

Well those people are fricking stupid.

I NEVER walk away from my car without pressing the button on my key fob to lock it.

It is a simple little thing and those that don't do it are the ultimate in lazy.

I don't get this. Why would you leave anything of value in your car and then leave it unlocked? The Garden District listserve won't stop complaining about stuff being stolen out of people's cars, but they all leave their cars unlocked when it has happened.

Happened to a Mother at STM pre-school last week. Not the sharpest tools in the shed if you ask me.

Please don't take offense Ron, but that's burglaries, not robberies. Completely different situations.
