He'll find trouble if he doesn't show promise the 1st few years no matter what approach he takes. Now the disciplinarian gives these kids the best chance to succeed on & off the field though. These kids/recruits need a parent like figure around while away from home, and not another friend. They've got plenty of acquaintances telling them how good they are while putting them on a very tall pedestals. I'm not talking about mean discipline, but just solid moral structure with accountabilty will do.

The kids at UT [Especially on defense] have an entitlement personality. That's probably half the reason why they are so soft. Strong isn't going to allow that kind of halfass BS at a program that still has the mindset as being "elite". Also, a QB like McCoy needs someone to put him in his place. The way he acted the last few weeks of the Mack Brown era was nothing more than a whiny little baby.

FWIW, I still find it funny that a number of you are shooting down Strongs guidelines to a disciplined program. Especially the people who thought Saban would be the perfect fit at UT of A.
