La'el but not Hill?

Collins staying makes Hill's decision even more puzzling. Early indications were that he was staying, then he apparently had a change of heart. I, along with other posters thought that maybe he couldn't convince La'el to stay with him. I thought they were pretty tight; it's a bummer we couldn't have the two big Redemptorist stars anchoring our young offense.

They weren't a package deal and both made their decisions independently. Collins has more to gain by coming back. It's as simple as that

Collins has much more to gain as an OT vs a RB and the team stands to gain more. We'll have a quality stable of RBs next year in (Fournette, Magee, Hilliard, and Williams). A potential first-round OT is much more important, especially for protecting a first-year starting QB.

When the NFL tells you that you are the #1RB in the draft then you are not going to improve any...

Once people told Hill he was going to be a 1st-round pick the decision was easy. That's why I laughed at the projections that had him in the 2nd-3rd. Clearly the scouts didn't fully evaluate him enough to that point or the character issue thing was way overblown.

WUT???????? By all accounts Hill is the #1 RB that will go in the draft. There is absolutely nothing puzzling about him leaving.

RB's have a MUCH shorter shelf life than an LT. Just a fact of playing in the NFL

From the advocate:

Collins, projected as high as a second-round draft choice, is “wrestling” with his decision, a source said. Hill is trying to convince Collins, a close friend and former Redemptorist High teammate, to return for his junior season. Hill is doing the same with right guard Trai Turner, a draft-eligible sophomore, who has joined Athletes’ Performance, a company that trains athletes for the NFL draft.

I disagree I think both of them could gain tremendously from coming back barring injury.
But that is the key, I feel the risk of injury is so much greater for HIll than Collins, although don't tell Faulk that, that it was a smart decision on Hill's part. Don't get me wrong I was hoping and praying that Hill came back, but completely understand why he isn't.

Although I don't believe Magee is only a change of pace back, nor do I believe Hilliard is a FB playing HB, if it were the case, we still have Fournette.

Hill will probably be the #1 RB in the draft by the time April comes. He won't get better with another year in college. The smart move was for him to go to the NFL.

I don't blame Hill too much. He will be drafted and make probably 495K like Michael Ford. I wouldn't pass that up and risk injury (like poor Marcus Lattimore).
