The clear thought by people in this thread is that they are smarter than the other side.

The shite in this thread is embarrassing and unamerican.

Getting rid of welfare ain't gonna cut it.

Not just welfare, but military spending, ObamaCare, Medicare, Medicaid, abolishing the fed, getting rid of a shite ton of bureaucracy, eliminating departments and agencies that serve no purpose at all and is redundant like education for example, stopping the wars and closing bases overseas, cutting foreign aid, subsidies for corporations, tackling the pension problem and most importantly, a balanced budget amendment.

What's more unamerican than thinking the framers were actually right about something when they crafted the finest and most well written constitution and legal document in history?

Exactly

Truth hurts.

That said, there are a ton of things to do to start bringing down the deficit/debt...and you know one of the surest ways NOT to? Continuing to spend $$$$ on bullshite government programs (such as expanding SNAP, spending $$$$ to expand SNAP, expanding Medicaid, continuing to fund Head Start [which is complete waste], et cetera).

[link=(Negotiators parceled out $8.6 billion for Head Start, $612 million more than what the program received in 2013. Democrats on the Committee on Appropriations say this is enough “to both fully restore the cuts to Head Start and to invest in the Administration’s Early Head Start-Child Care Partnerships.” That could mean re-opening slots for the more than 57,000 children who were kicked out of Head Start last year and allow programs to bring back bus services that had been eliminated and longer hours and more days of service that had been reduced.)]Won't happen this year[/link]

Embarrassing? Which part? The bit where people were seriously arguing that voters in an age of near universal literacy, ubiquitous information technology and widespread secondary education are the least informed voters in history, the part where posters were wetting their panties at the thought of oligarchy, or the whole "who needs the consent of the governed thing? Let's restrict all political power to a subgroup of wealthy landowners!" idea?
