Just got back from a Carnival cruise. We hid two bottles in a suitcase. They found one, missed the other. Pretty sure if we used Rum Runners or anything of the like we would have gotten both through.

Also, the old idea of filling a 12 pack of Coke up with beer no longer works either. Saw them open each and every case of can drinks to check for non soft drink cans.

You are on a vacation. Why would you try to act so cheap about stuff. Just pay for your drinks and quit working about it.

If you can't afford to buy the drinks, then don't go

I took rum runners from NY to Rome and then on board a carnival cruise...no issues whatsoever. I've used em multiple times without ever getting caught.

ETA: You can bye them on amazon

For anyone that would rather spend thousands of dollars drinking daily and nightly the entire cruise, rather than bring on some liquor and buy beers also, you are frick nugget morons.

The first cruise I went on, I brought on 6-20 oz bottles of crown in tea bottles. 9 people with us did this. We drank all day every day. I made mix drinks with soda card until switching to beer during afternoons.

Bar tab for cruise was only 400$

frick buying $7 dollar beers all day every day.

Wasn't sure which board to post this on. Has anyone gone on a carnival cruise lately and brought on liquor?

I went a few years back and everyone was bringing vodka in water bottles or crown in tea bottles and such. You were allowed to bring on X amount of "non-alcoholic beverages"

I've heard that they have gotten stricter is preventing this. Anybody did it recently?

Going on a cruise this march.

And for all the "bye drinks on board" answers coming,

For $26.00 per 4 beer bucket, I'll definitely bring some liquor to get a head start before I start buying.

4 pack of 16 ounce bud/bud light/coors light is 25.
4 pack of 12 ounce corona/heineken/dos equis is 22

i don't see it listed, but your best deal is Foster's -- 2 beers in 1 for less than twice the price

I was saving my money for an actually fun vacation

I would just do rum runners. I'm going on Celebrity Silhouette leaving next Sunday but thankfully I have the premium beverage package.

They had a shite ton of bottles and such behind the very first security check point. I cannot confirm for a fact but know damn well that they opened and smelled for alcohol. There were close to a hundred bottles.

If they do this with the carry on luggage, imagine what they do when they find bottles in your checked luggage.

Honestly, I think we did it best. Try to snuggle on sealed bottles. If you get caught, you get them back the last day. We had 2 in one bag and they only found 1 of them.

Lots of people saying that security is lax and all. I got off the boat Saturday and this is what I saw.

I remember someone doing the liquor in a Listerine bottle. Don't know if it works anymore.

Private yachts? Please. The house you posted your pic in front of was maybe an above average middle class home, not a mansion. So just stop

Security is not lax. They opened every package of drinks we carried on & carefully inspected each. I wouldn't try to be any less sneaky than rum runners or the other shite you find on amazon like the shampoo bottles
